God is building someting stunning

God is a God that desires relationships.This is what I realized after I came back from one of the 50 Villages hikes, that God desires relationship with all.
We had spent a couple of days up in the remote mountains on outreach to some new villages. We thought we were there to teach them but instead, I walked away having learned a beautiful lesson.Spending time with the villagers, taking part in their ways, relying on fire to stay warm, sleeping in challenging environments, and cooking food with your hands over a fire with an old steel pot.
Their world is so different, and yet we were all the same. Despite our cultural, economic and language differences we were able to connect.The need for a loving, caring and all-powerful God is universal. Even greater than this is when you come to realize that this incredible God wants to know you, He wants a relationship with you.
This may very well be the most stunning reality of all.There is a God who would love nothing more than to sit around the fire with you and enjoy fellowship over a hearty meal.So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
John 13:34 NLTThis is why we do the 50 Villages project. This is why we hike in the cold, wind and rain. This is why. It is to love just as Jesus loves.The most impactful thing we ever do may be cooking a meal for someone over a fire.Through this love, we may build a lasting relationship. Every village pleads with us to return. They have no way of contacting us. If we chose to never come back they could do nothing but wonder what happened to the strange outside visitors. They are trusting us to return, we believe many of them see the value in the Gospel and deep down they desperately want it to be proven true.How may it be proven true? Quite possibly through love. So by the power of God we will love them as long as we can.Thank you for all the support and prayer.(More verses for eager readers)
